We don't take reservations - service on a first-come, first-served basis.
We serve the typical flavours of our island. Simple quality food and a friendly service. We look forward to your visit.
A small, but specialised menu. The favourite is certainly the regional espetada (skewered meat) on a bay stick, skewered barbecued chicken, grilled cod, homemade bolo do caco (the traditional Madeiran bread) with garlic butter, among others. We serve quality meals with typical Madeiran flavours.
The meal starts better with a traditional madeiran bread (bolo do caco) with garlic butter. Choosing the main dish is easy: the traditional skewered meat (on bay stick, if you prefer), accompanied by milho frito (fried corn squares), chips and salad. A chicken skewer is also a good addition on the table. To drink, try our homemade sangria, or choose one of the famous Portuguese wines that we have in our curated list. Finalize in the best way with a traditional passion fruit pudding for deserve, and drink a regional poncha (madeiran alcoholic beverage) before you leave. It will certainly be a good option. Enjoy.
Founded in 1966 by José Silvestre de Jesus as a small typical Madeiran tavern. It started by serving snacks and drinks, at Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, in the beautiful Portuguese Madeira Island. It quickly became a site of choice among the locals, being the espetada (skewered meat) the grand favourite. The place has been transforming itself and growing over time, while still holding a family management by two of the founder's sons - Manuel and Isidro de Jesus - that are, to this day, committed to keeping alive the local tradition of simplicity, quality and the pleasure of well serving.
A comfortable cosy place, recently renovated to provide better well-being to our customers. The meals remain the same and are prepared daily with dedication, to ensure that the result is consistently up to standards. The quality food, the fast and friendly service and the commitment to serve well are the virtues most admired by those who visit us frequently. Occasionally we receive some prizes and mentions, for which we're very grateful. We are known across the island and by some throughout the world.
